Today, I viewed wedding dresses again. This trip was a bit more sucessful and I now have a better idea of what I want to wear. There were two dresses I loved but couldn't decide between the two. I may try some other shops in the area before making a final choice but I feel better now I know the style I am looking for. Can't believe I didn't figure it out before - got to be Mermaid style. I think Fern (from "Drift") would like the dresses I was looking at, perhaps I will marry her off later in the series...
Something I really loved about the shop I visited today was my two best friends were offered somewhere to sit. There was a pretty white cat walking around. The Shop Assistant who helped me was down to earth (she used to make army uniforms) and getting married herself soon and totally understood where I was coming from. The whole experience at Hot Bobbin was delightful.
It was also nice to dream about my future and take a break from the lives of my characters.
Something I love about Scribblers is their ability to challenge us with their fortnightly projects. This is a new idea for this year 'period' writing. You can write your piece on any genre but it must be set in the past. History is not my strong point so I had some research to do.
I research ideas for a lot of my stories. Instinct as involved my researching ancient history such as the Egyptians and Greeks. I've also searched on legends of shapeshifters and witches. There was a story that caught my attention about how Eve (from Adam and Eve) was not the first woman. I decided to write my piece losely based around that story.
